Marketing and Communications
Tejano Center is deeply dedicated to strengthening our community through a comprehensive family of programs grounded in four core pillars: education, social initiatives, health equity, and supportive housing. Our brand identity represents opportunity and empowerment, and these guidelines ensure our communications remain consistent, recognizable, and aligned with our mission.
Our largest program, RYSS Texas Public Schools, is our charter school district committed to academic excellence and the success of our students and families. As part of our continued effort to build consistency, strengthen recognition, and more clearly tell our story, we have unified and rebranded across RYSS and all of our schools. This refreshed identity reflects who we are today — one organization, one mission, and one community working together to create lasting impact.
To support this work, team members can access the Branding Boxes, which include everything needed to share the Tejano Center and RYSS mission with care and consistency

At the heart of every thriving society lies a commitment to its youngest members. We are honored to have Carol Shattuck Co-Chair Tejano Center’s 6th Annual State of the Center Luncheon, bringing with her over 35 years of leadership in advancing educational equity and opportunity.
Carol’s unwavering belief in the power of early childhood education has shaped her career. As former President & CEO of Collaborative for Children, she dedicated two decades to ensuring that all children—regardless of background—had access to quality early learning. Under her leadership, the organization expanded its reach, secured transformative funding, and forged critical partnerships across Texas and beyond. She successfully navigated a major organizational merger and played a pivotal role in shaping early childhood education policies that continue to impact countless families today.
Beyond her executive leadership, Carol has served as a trusted advisor to mission-driven organizations, specializing in strategic planning, board development, and program evaluation. Her work empowers nonprofits to create sustainable, lasting change. She also remains deeply engaged in civic life, serving in leadership roles at South Main Baptist Church and recently serving on the League of Women Voters Board.
Carol’s passion stems from a profound understanding: investing in a child’s earliest years is the most powerful tool for breaking cycles of poverty and unlocking future potential. She has dedicated her life’s work to ensuring that every child has the foundation to succeed—because strong children build strong communities.
Now, you can be part of this transformative mission. 💙

Tejano Spirit
At Tejano Center, we serve everyone — and everyone is Tejano. Because Tejano is not a zip code, a campus, or a single program.
Tejano is a Spirit.
It is the spirit of perseverance in a student determined to succeed.
It is the strength of a parent building stability for their family.
It is the resilience of survivors finding healing.
It is the pride of a community rising together.
Our work remains firmly rooted in our four pillars — education, health, housing, and social services — because real transformation happens when opportunity is connected across every stage of life.
Tejano is a Spirit. And at Tejano Center, it lives in all of us. 💙
