  • What are the requirements to be a foster parent?

  • Can a single person qualify to be a foster parent?

                    Answer: Yes.

  • How long does the entire process take?

                    Answer: The entire process takes 3-6 months.

  • Can I choose the gender and age of the child, or do I have to accept any child?

                    Answer: Yes, you can choose the age range and gender of the child.

  • Is there any financial assistance?

                    Answer: Parents will receive a monthly stipend to assist with the children’s needs.

  • Do foster children need to have their own bedroom.

                    Answer: No, a separate bedroom is not required for each foster child. However, they

cannot sleep in the bedroom with an adult. If multiple children share a bedroom, there must be a

separate bed for each child, along with space for their clothes, shoes, and personal property.

  • Are all children in foster care abused or troubled?

                    Answer: While most of the children in foster care have experienced some level of abuse,

not every child in care is a victim of abuse. Some children have lost their parent(s) and no

relative was available for guardianship.
