NOVA Academy for Adult Education provides high quality, innovative education leading to
student success and completion of workforce and academic programs.
The courses provided include:
· ESL - In an English as a Second Language (ESL) class, students are taught reading, listening, speaking and writing at three levels Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced
· TxCHSE - The Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (TxCHSE) Test is offered to members in our community. Our program is designed for native and non-native speakers who want to improve their language skills and gain core academic skills needed to obtain a HSE. All subjects (Math, Social Studies, Language, Reading) pertaining to the TxCHSE Test are taught in one class.
· Integrated EL Civics Program- Educational services that enable adults who are English Language Learners (ELLs) to achieve competency in the English language and acquire the basic and more advanced skills needed to function effectively as parents, workers, and citizens in the United States; and Instruction in literacy and English language acquisition and instruction on the rights and responsibilities of citizenship and civic participation
Orientation for Fall Semester: August 31, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM here at Tejano Center for Community Concerns.
First Day of Fall Semester for Adult Learning: September 19, 2022.
*Students are taught by trained professionals certified by the State of Texas.
